Welcome to SECOND CHANCE SHELTERING NETWORK,INC . SECOND CHANCE is an all volunteer, no-kill, tax-exempt, 501(C)(3), animal rescue organization located in the Western New York area. We specialize in stray, orphaned, abandoned and abused companion animals (dogs and cats). Second Chance, being a partner in the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project of Erie County, regularly take cats from  the SPCA Serving Erie County and The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter when they call us for assistance.

Where does the pregnant mother go to have her babies? Where does the injured cat or dog go to recuperate? Where does the orphaned puppy or kitten go to be bottle fed and hand-raised? To Second Chance, of Course! Second Chance Sheltering Network, Inc. is made up of a group of deeply dedicated animal lovers who foster the animals in their homes until they are ready for adoption into pre-screened, approved homes. There is no paid staff in our organization, we all serve out of love.

NO ANIMAL LEAVES OUR ORGANIZATION UNTIL IT IS SPAYED OR NEUTERED.

We Do Not Turn Our Back On An Animal In Need!

SICK, INJURED, AND SCARED!
Katie the Kat

This poor creature had gotten her foot stuck in a plastic flea collar and nobody had come to her rescue.  As a result, she had a "hugh" gash under her "armpit" which was never treated.  A nice older woman took her in but was unable to pay for her veterinary care.  For one year, this kitty had this awful wound with no treatment and it began to become VERY infected and smell.  That is when a neighbor called us, we immediately sent one of our volunteers to pick the cat up and these are the first pictures our veterinarian, Dr. M. Souza took of her wound.

Since these pictures were taken, Katie has had reconstructive surgery and is recuperating in a foster home.  Donations toward Katie's bill would greatfully be accepted.
AFTER

Happy, Healthy & Looking for Love!!
Ms. Katie had reconstructive surgery on her "armpit" injury and she is now ready
for a new home.  She is very sweet, loving and is cat friendly.
This is what Second Chance does, and we need your support both monetarily and by
volunteering to continue to help the "Katies of Our Area" when they come to
Us.
Good News, Ms. Katie has found her new "Forever Home"
