Cara Mia Pet Resort

Owner Cindy Youngers has been a Second Chance supporter for many years. In 2012 she opened Cara Mia, a non-traditional daycare, boarding facility and grooming salon located in East Amherst, NY. Cara Mia is a one-of-a-kind resort for cats and dogs in the Western New York area with amenities including a heated swim spa, outdoor carriage rides and even indulgent rose petal Jacuzzi bubble baths!

Cara Mia often hosts Second Chance rescues who are up for adoption in their beautiful space. They have also provided their grooming services to our rescues who have come off the street, desperate for a “refresh” to make them feel like themselves again!

In August 2019, Second Chance was awarded a grant for $3,000 during a presentation by one of our fundraising team leaders, Chelsea Hoover.

We are so humbled and thankful to the management team who approved us as an official Geico partner.

Thank you to Geico and to our dedicated volunteer Chelsea Hoover for affording us this honor!

Soma Cura Wellness Center is a local health and wellness center serving clients in the Grand Island, NY area.

“Cat yoga” is hosted in partnership with local shelters, including Second Chance, to combine relaxing yoga and the enrichment of friendly, adoptable rescue cats!

They host donation based classes where ALL donations come to the shelter. We are so grateful for this unique fundraising/showcasing opportunity!

Cat yoga is held periodically throughout the year. Cats and kittens that are brought to each session are available for adoption.

Cellino Plumbing, Heating and Cooling has always put a strong emphasis on giving back to the Western New York community. One of the ways they do this is by hosting a charity of the month! The charity of the month is decided by votes from the community. Our supporters showed up for October 2020 and Second Chance claimed the title for the kitties! Cellino generously donated $500 to the shelter and Rob Banks on WYRK hosted our “spokes-volunteer” (Ashley) to talk about the shelter! Check it out in the video.
